We talked about 2016 telemedicine predictions, but what’s already in-progress for telemedicine around the US?

The American Telemedicine Association released this overview document about a week ago.
 
2016 seems to be the year of expansion for telemedicine. In 2015, the US had more than 200 telemedicine bills in legislature. States who are not proposing coverage now will be one of the last to join the rest of the country in private insurance parity laws and Medicaid coverage.
 
Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Washington may see some big changes for telemedicine in 2016. These states have bills pending for more than one of the following categories: for private insurance parity laws, Medicaid coverage, other telemedicine coverage/access.
 
States that have telemedicine laws in place for both Medicaid and private insurance include Arkansas, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, Tennessee, and Vermont.
 
Massive changes are in store for telemedicine, and we can’t wait!
